Exploring Little Italy

This past Sunday, our co-ed high school group ventured to a favorite neighborhood of downtown Manhattan, Little Italy! We welcomed back a members we haven't seen in awhile, and started our session by using the moovit app to determine that the downtown 6 train to Spring Street would be the most efficient route. We walked using the google maps app and located Mulberry Street and and decided that La Mela looked like the perfect restaurant to have our delicious Italian lunch. While seated, we looked at all the celebrity photos posted on the wall and took in the history of this restaurant, which opened its doors over 25 years ago. During lunch, we explored the various options on the menu and spent time discussing the upcoming spring break and our plans. The group leader also acknowledged attempts to speak appropriately with the wait staff and exhibit good manners, which is an important skill we always reinforce at Teenz! Our members modeled strong reciprocal conversation throughout lunch and headed to Cafe Palermo for the famous cannolli for dessert! Fun was had by all our members, and we are so happy to be walking around NYC in the spring weather.
