Color Me Mine

Our girls group had a great time this past Sunday of pottery and painting at Color Me Mine in Tribeca. We met at our regular meeting spot and gathered together reviewing the girls travel worksheets, previously completed at home to determine the quickest route to take to our outing. The group decided on taking the 4,5 train downtown to 14th street, and transferring to the 6 train to Canal Street; however to our surprise, an announcement on the train informed us that the 4,5 express train would stop running at 42nd Street-Grand Central Station. The group worked together to problem solve utilizing the subway map and decided on transferring to the 6 train, which they could ride directly to Canal Street. Upon arrival to Color Me Mine, the girls each selected their special pieces keeping in mind their daily budget. This was a challenging task for many of the girls, but we reminded them the additional costs of painting and the importance of saving money for lunch. The girls worked diligently on their projects while engaging each other in friendly conversations and continuing to build their friendships. After completion of their projects, the girls worked up quite an appetite and we navigated down Mulberry Street in Little Italy for lunch. We stopped at Sal's Pizzeria to fuel our hungry bellies.
In order to get back to our meeting spot, we decided on taking the train from the Spring street subway stop, which was only a few blocks away, and closer to our current location instead of walking south towards Canal Street. The girls demonstrated understanding of this decision, and we all happily traveled together on the train to the upper east side!
