It's Never Too Cold For Milkshakes!
The Teenz boys group had a delicious brunch at Big Daddy’s Diner. We were proud of the entire group for showing flexibility, since our plans had to change due to the weather and we could not go to our planned outing. While this change was unexpected and disappointing, all of the group members were excited to go to Big Daddy’s Diner. The group chose to walk and used google maps to help them find their way. On the way to the restaurant, group members engaged in reciprocal conversation about what they did over the break. They also discussed what food they were going to order at the diner and most of the group members were excited about the delicious milkshakes.
When we arrived at Big Daddy’s, the group members did a wonderful job ordering their food, while keeping in mind how much money they had. All of the group members used their advocacy skills to ask the waiter several questions, such as how much drinks cost and what sides came with their food. The diner was extremely busy and it took a while for our food to come, so group members had to be patient. We spoke about how to appropriately ask the waiter if our food was going to be coming soon. The boys came up with a script and the group facilitator modeled this script by asking the waiter. While we waited for our food to come, we played a trivia game to help pass the time and the group did a wonderful job showing off their knowledge. The entire group enjoyed their delicious meals as well as the music that was playing. After we ate, the group members used tip calculator to determine an appropriate tip to leave. On the walk back to Bread and Butter, group members discussed their highs and lows for the day. Some of these included lunch, having milkshakes and socializing. The Teenz boys group did not let the snow ruin their day of fun!
