Laser Tag - Chelsea Piers
Members met at our usual meeting spot and welcomed a new member to the group this week. We spent time looking up the most efficient route to arrive at Bowlmor Chelsea Piers where Laser Tag is housed. We opted to walk to the M23 since the weather was so nice and took the bus straight across to the west side. While we waited for the bus, we used our maps to determine where we were and split into two groups to see which group could locate where we were going on the map first. Members enjoyed the friendly competition and were curious to learn more about Manhattan neighborhoods.
Upon our arrival to Chelsea Piers, we followed the signs to Bowlmor/Laser Tag. When we arrived, we had some time to play arcade games before entered in for two games of laser tag. Members had to assess their budgets to see how much money they had for games, while accounting for their pizza money and laser tag fees. While playing laser tag, members had so much fun running around and being silly with one another, while also working as a team. They kept a positive attitude and had so much fun even though they didn't beat the other team.
After the laser tag games, they members worked up quite an appetite and dined on some pizza before taking the bus back to our meeting spot. During lunch, group facilitators helped members engage in reciprocal conversation about end of school year activities and summer plans. We are looking forward to another fun outing on the westside next week!
